PINANGUNAHAN ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang paglulunsad ng Department of Education’s (DepEd) Project Accelerating Governance and Adaptive Pedagogy through Artificial Intelligence (AGAP.AI) sa Quezon City Science High School bilang hakbang sa pagsasama ng artificial intelligence sa basic education at national development na magsasanay sa mga mag-aaral, guro, at magulang sa responsable at etikal na paggamit ng AI.
Kaugnay ang proyektong ito ng isinusulong ng pamahalaan na Philippine AI Program Framework na may layuning palakasin ang ekonomiya, imprastraktura, at kakayahan ng mga manggagawa, habang nangunguna ang Pilipinas sa pagbuo ng makatao at magkakaugnay na AI ecosystem sa ASEAN.
“This means that students will learn how AI works, teachers can learn how to integrate AI into their lessons, and parents can guide their children in using AI safely and wisely at home.
“As we hit the ground running in 2026, once again, we start a new era in our educational system and in the way that we train our young people,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
Ipinaliwanag ng Pangulo na akmang pinangalanan AGAP.AI (“agapay”), na ang ibig sabihin ay “suportahan” o “maging Tully.”
“This is what we are trying to do today: standing next to our people and bridging the gap between technology and education,” sabi ng Pangulo.
Nagbigay ang Office of the President ng dalawang unit ng Starlink satellite internet service at isang unit ng Smartboard interactive touchscreen sa Quezon City Science High School.
Sa tulong ng Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Foundation and Google.org, magsisimula ang DepEd ng pambansang AI skills training program na aabot sa 1.5 milyong Filipino.
“We are also investing heavily in our teachers. Through AI-focused training modules, educators will be equipped to teach AI responsibly and creatively, whilst at the same time keeping up with the developing new technologies as they come down the pipeline,” dagdag ng Pangulo.
